I am 30 yet still poor, what should i do ?

1. The situation i faced

  1. In the TV series “breaking bad”, Walt is 50 and still poor. I am a little bit lucky , only 30, but both poor too.
  2. What’s even worser, i have been disappeared in public for almost one and a half year.
  3. I neither posted any message in the moments of my wechat account, nor i contacted any friends. i just hid into my little house of imagination and licked my wounds alone.
  4. Fortunately, the most dark moment has finally gone.
  5. and my confidence comes back a little,else i won’t write this article.
  6. Although it seems things go better and better, however here still comes the question: I am 30 yet still poor,what should i do ?
  7. I have been thought of the question for days. what should i do to make money ? why my target customer pay attention,time and money to me ? Am i good at doing something ? Have i got some product or services to sell, after all people pay money for what they need . Do i have some information gap that could be used to make money ? so many questions.
  8. Confusion i got.
  9. Eventually i decided to think in another way.

2. Business SWOT Analysis

Strength

1 . What do you do well?

1.1 nothing particularly well

1.2 english level passed CET6 : can write,listen,and communicate with foreigners fluently. — -> can do the translation job.

1.3 know a little bit of programming: python, Html5, CSS, JavaScript, only a little.

1.4 also know a little bit of marketing, can write articles to attract people’s attention.

2 . What internal resources do you have?

2.1 Money : no

2.2 Asset

2.2.1 virtual resource ? a lot of books and mp4 tutorial videos that i can sell. more than 3000G+.

2.2.2 the amount of people in my wechat moments is over 2000+

2.2.3 i have several social media accounts that could be used to attract attentions

2.2.4 also have got some friends that yearly income over ¥300000+

2.2.5 also got some friends in Electronic business , cause i spent two years in this industry.

2.3 Skill

2.3.1 i know how to set up a vps so that i can use google, a lot people don’t know how , or just lazy to learn , they just pay, like i did in the past.

2.3.2 translate english to chinese by using the tool : google translation.

2.3.3 now learn Python and Html everyday, try to make them the hard skill.

2.4 experience

2.4.1 SAP-SD consultants, long time ago, affect nothing today.

2.4.2 used to run a factory for two years, affect nothing today.

2.4.3 used to run a taobao shop , resulted in losing money. but the virual shop actuall made money scueesfully.

2.4.4 used to write articles, operate self-media Wechat public account, but don’t have a specific topic. so the subscriber only 300+.

3 . What advantages do you have over your competition?

3.1 who is my competitor? which market segment i will choose ? what’s the amount of money is my goal?

3.1.1 goal start with $1000 per month.

3.1.2 wechat account

3.1.3 youtube

3.1.4 upwork,fiverr,freelancer

3.1.5 taobao

3.1.6 amazon

3.2 run a youtube channel that talk about make money by doing part-time job,using information gap, i will show the details and what i think about it. most youtuber just say, never track the result . i will show the result.

3.2.1 competition will do this thing so.

3.3 how about focus on Upwork.com? cause there is Labor cost gap .

3.3.1 low price strategy.

3.3.2 like photo retouching, inforgraphy, cause i know several man can handle photoshop well.

3.4 and i will write articles in Medium, Quora, Facebook, Twitter, Jianshu, wechat account, Toutiao, Zhihu and so on, every article i shall append my youtube and amazon shop or taobao shop links.

4 . Do you have strong research and development capabilities? Manufacturing facilities?

4.1 no, but what i sell is information gap, don’t need manufacturing facilities.

4.2 lack of research or development capabilities. i think the market is huge enough.

5 . What other positive aspects, internal to your business, add value or offer you a competitive advantage?

5.1 can not think anymore.

Weakness

1 . What factors that are within your control detract from your ability to obtain or maintain a competitive edge?

1.1 money

1.2.1 may need to cooprate with partners

1.3.1 lack of management skill

1.4 experience

1.4.1 lack of doing job in platform like Upwork

1.5 personal character

1.5.1 lack of persistence. that had happen before.

1.5.2 maybe arrogant when it really works.

1.5.3 Low EQ, IQ is standard.

2 . What areas need improvement to compete with your strongest competitor?

2.1 seo skill both in youtube and taobao and amazon

2.2 self management skill

2.3 english level

2.4 information searching skill

2.5 the ability to deal with foreign customers.

2.6 the skill to write a good proposal.

3 . What does your business lack (for example, expertise or access to skills or technology)?

3.1 photoshop expert that willing to work with me, and he should not handle english well.

4.1 yes, time,money,human resource, in the first phase, maybe all by myself.

5 . Is your business in a poor location?

5.1 yes, now is all of imagination.

Oppertunity

1 . What opportunities exist in your market or the environment that you can benefit from?

1.1 a lot of people want to make money by doing part-time job. yet now the youtuber only tell people the program , but not the result, people need to see the result.

2.1 yes, i think i can do it better.

3.1 a lot of youtuber increase subscriber according to my oberservation.

4 . Is the opportunity ongoing, or is there just a window for it? In other words, how critical is your timing?

4.1 i don’t know, just think that i can cut in .

1 . Who are your existing or potential competitors?

1.1 lots of youtuber.

1.2 upwork competition also is fierce.

1.3 and so is taobao

1.4 that is why i need to learn python or html everyday.

2.1 political factor. because i use a VPS to go aborad.

3 . What situations might threaten your marketing efforts?

3.1 myself lack of persistence.

4 . Has there been a significant change in supplier prices or the availability of raw materials?

4.1 i don’t see

5 . What about shifts in consumer behavior, the economy, or government regulations that could reduce your sales?

5.1 the Chinese policy that bans VPS

5.2 people don’t want to see the result of part-time job platform. whick is not possible.

5.3 people never go to Upwork to find freelancer, which is impossible too.

3. Here comes the conclusion

  1. Not sure if i am competitive in the youtube or upwork platform. Give myself a try .
  2. Spend fixed time to teach myself in programming.
  3. Tomorrow i should have a plan on how to get it on-going . maybe tonight talk to some friends about my thoughts,and listen to their suggestions.
  4. I did not think it will take so much time to do the SWOT part.(get a bit of exhaustion)
